The beach is covered with extremely fine sand and it has held a prestigious Blue Flag for its cleanliness and generally high standards since 2004.
The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) awards blue flags to sites that meet its criteria in terms of water quality, waste sorting standards and effectiveness, provision of pedestrian zones and cycle paths, and the balance between tourism and nature.

In addition, Blue Flags let visitors know that they can count on services such as life guards, toilets, clean beaches, environmental education initiatives and disabled access to the beach.
